CARL WARNER will be presenting a paper on landscape photography entitled My Romantic Failure, as part of the AAANZ (Art Association of Australia and New Zealand) Conference on Friday 27 NOV 2009 from 11:30am - 1pm.

JUSTINE COOPER launches her new series 'Living In Sim' at Daniel Mayhood Gallery in New York until the 31st
December 2009. Justine Cooper's timely new project is a mixed reality artwork that includes a website, online social media, photography, video and installation to explore the complexities present in the current health care environment and online social media. JONATHAN KIMBERLEY in the 2009 Westpac Redlands Art Prize. The Prize, curated by renowned Australian artist Imants Tillers, is acquisitive with values of $20, 000 and $10, 000 being awarded. Kimberley’s entry piece ‘Kuluntjarra: World Map’ will hang alongside works by Mike Parr, Lindy Lee, Harry Nankin and Julie Gough.

OCTOBER 

JUAN FORD selected to exhibit work in the prestigious Basil Sellers $100, 000 Art Prize for 2010. For more information on the prize, visit the Sellers Art Prize website.  

JANET LAURENCE selected to exhibit work in the 2009 Clemenger Contemporary Art Award at the National Gallery of Victoria. 
 It is the final exhibition in the series of triennials established by Joan and Peter Clemenger through a generous gift to the NGV in 1991.

TONY ALBERT will give an artist talk as part of the 'me-take' exhibition at the Perth Centre for Photography.  Curated by Eva Fernandez, the exhibition looks as Indigenous self-representation in photo-media and runs from  31 OCT - 13 DEC 2009.  For more information visit the PCP website

Look out for TONY ALBERT on the ABC show 'The Collectors' scheduled to air on Friday 14 AUG 2009. 

JUNE 
JOACHIM FROESE opens a much anticipated 10 year survey show 'Still Life: Joachim Foese Photographs 1999-2008' at QUT Art Museum. The exhibition includes works across five series inlcuding his latest Archive series. The exhibition conitnues until the 16 AUG 2009. 

MAY 
TONY ALBERT, JUSTINE COOPER and JANET LAURENCE show work in 'The Museum Effect' curated by Meryl Ryan, Lake Macquarie City Art Gallery from 14 MAY - 18 JUN 2009. And Congratulations are in order for JONATHAN KIMBERLEY who has received the ALCORSO Foundation Italian Residency for 2009 and is short listed for the City of Hobart Art Prize 2009. 

APRIL 
DANIEL MAFE opens his PhD exhibtion 'Sites of Abstraction, Diagrams of Needs' at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Art Musem this month on Wednesday 23 APR. The exhibtion showcases new works from 2008-2009 and continues until the 31 MAY 2009. 

MEL ROBSON at QUT Art Museum with her beautiful display of cermic works in 'Re:Collect'. Exhibition continues until 31 MAY 2009. 

ALFREDO + ISABEL AQUILIZAN have just come back from overseas with work tourning in the exhibitions CODE SHARE (20 artists over 5 continents) and The Biennale Cuvee (OK Centre for Contemporary Art) and will be participating in the upcoming Hong Kong Art Fair in MAY 2009. 

MARCH 
Congratulations are in order for JUAN FORD who is one of the selected finalists for the 2009 Sulman Art Prize and to DANIEL WALLWORK who is 1 of 3 Queensland artists nominated for the 2009 QANTAS Encouragement of Australian Contemporary Art Award (QEACAA). The winner of the QEACAA will receive $10, 000 in air flights and $10, 000 for professional development. 


FEBRUARY 
New York based artist JUSTINE COOPER joins the gallery with her latest series HAVIDOL and CONGRATULATIONS to TONY ALBERT who was the WINNER of the 2009 Linden Postcard Art Prize. For more details click here. 


JANUARY 
TONY ALBERT will be representing Queensland in the 10th Havana Biennial in Cuba from 27 MAR - 30 APR 2009. Tony is one of six Australian artists selected to participate in the exhibition, curated by Christine Morrow (Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney).  ALFREDO + ISABEL AQUILIZAN will participate in Code Share at the Contemporary Art Centre (CAC), Vilinius from JAN 16 - MAR 8 2009. Code Share involves 20 artists over 5 continents and spanning 10 biennales.
