Ian Friend, Natalie Lavelle, and Robyn Stacey’s works have been featured in Belle Magazine’s spread of a reinvented three-level riverside apartment in Brisbane’s New Farm.

Interior designer Samantha Leigh was tasked with reinventing a three-level riverside apartment
in Brisbane into a warm and approachable family home. Presented with a blank canvas Samantha chose a layered composition, starting with Venetian plaster walls and transformative lighting sourced from around the world. Against this backdrop she placed an eclectic collection of bespoke, contemporary and vintage pieces that provide the requisite soul.

Collaborating with Jan Manton Gallery, works were selected from our stockroom to complete the design. In the living room, a cast bronze and timber sculpture, Soap (After Francis Ponge), 2021 by Ian Friend completes the “textural and layered” space. For the master bedroom, Natalie Lavelle’s Rekindling (Interference/Whites), 2021 features, offset by the custom linen bedhead and spreads. And as one enters the expansive entertaining terrace, Robyn Stacey’s Understood from within (pink), from the series Just Light, 2021, glows against the timber flooring.
