In “For the Birds”, composer John Cage declared that questions should preserve us from all the logical minimisations that we are at each instant tempted to apply to the flux of events. The artist believing that questions are more powerful than answers in navigating our uncertain world. In creating this work using Cage’s technique of piecing together that which swirls around us simultaneously to create something new, it invites us to consider what questions our visual world is posing. - Jacinta Giles
