
Saffron Newey is a Naarm/Melbourne-based artist who works with traditional painting methods to render digitally altered, historical source images. With over 30 years of practice, Newey’s work has been exhibited and collected in Australia, USA, Italy, Singapore and South Korea. Since the completion of her PhD in 2019 (RMIT University), Newey continues her inquiry into how the Internet has altered our perception of art history and its legacy upon the original art object.
